In advance of this week's broadcast of Banished in Australia, new behind the scenes photos from fiming the series on location, have been shared on The Guardian website.
The Hampstead Theatre has finally announced the full cast for Mr Foote's Other Leg, which opens on September 14th. Very few tickets are left, so hurry if you haven't ordered yours yet.
Simon Russell Beale will be joined by Dervla Kirwan, Joseph Millson and Colin Stinton in the riotously funny new play, directed by Richard Eyre. The full cast includes Micah Balfour, Sophie Bleasdale, Joshua Elliott, Jenny Galloway, Ian Kelly and Forbes Masson. Runs on the Main Stage 14 September - 17 October. Limited availability.
As the Australian premiere of banished approaches - June 25th on BBC First - new articles and links to interviews with writer Jimmy McGovern have appeared online. Mediaweek shared one in which Jimmy discusses his original plan to create a show about the first hangman and Bennelong, the Aborigine.
In advance of the Australian broadcast of Banished, the Guardian has included the show in an Antipodean news roundup. The show has gathered some controversy (already addressed by Jimmy McGovern during the UK broadcast), regarding the lack of indigenous Australians in series 1. In his recent website interview, Joseph revealed that he would be returning to the stage later this year. This evening he tweeted the details of the play.
