A brilliant new review for the eintire series of Banished has been shared online - awarding it 4 stars. Read it in full on the website. 

But the season’s finale is one of the finest episodes of television I’ve seen this year – drama from start to finish with blistering brutality and tension. Again Adam Nagaitis and Ryan Corr excel in their roles as personal storylines play a huge role in the show’s bigger plot.

The Radio Times has had news from the BBC about the decision to cancel Banished.

BBC spokesperson told RadioTimes.com “There are no current plans for Banished to return. We are very proud of the series and hugely grateful to all those who worked so hard on it. However, in addition to all its new titles, the BBC2 drama budget only allows for a limited number of returning dramas a year which means we have to make hard choices.”

Cal MacAninch tweeted the terrible news that Banished will not be recommisioned for another series. For those upset by the news, there is still a petition to sign, and other ways to let the BBC know your feelings! Follow the Save Banished Twitter account! Badly done, BBC. Badly done.

A day after the Australian premiere of Banished, New Zealand fans can expect a treat. Banished begins broadcast on UKTV New Zealand on June 26th.
