CHRISTMAS promises to be a worrying time for Peak Practice fans when they find out their clean cut heart-throb Sam Morgan is to blame for a terrifying car crash which cripples his girlfriend and leaves another young family facing a shocking death.

A three-vehicle pile up involving Dr Morgan, played by Joseph Millson, and Beeches physiotherapist Kerri Davidson (Susannah Corbett) leaves Kerri motionless in hospital with an anxious Sam waiting by her side.

Fortunately, Sam suffers nothing more than some bruising and a cut above his eye but he fears the worst when Kerri's legs fail to respond to medical attention.

JOSEPH ON CAROLINE

Caroline's very romantic. She's the first and only woman to send me flowers and I cried. We'd met in March 1997 on a tour of Noel Coward's Salad Days, but I left the company before she did.

Ten months later I asked her to marry me while we were in Paris. I know it is a really romantic city, but I didn't really plan it.

I had a week off from the theatre run I was in so I went over to see Caroline who was in a production there.

We decided to go up the Eiffel Tower because we thought it was something lovely to do as a couple, even though it was freezing cold. The inspiration must have been divine as

I never thought, "Oh, this is the Eiffel Tower, it'll be a good moment to pop the question."

Dr Sam's country life is also the best medicine for actor Joseph Millson

Since he joined Peak Practice last year, Dr Sam Morgan has established himself as The Beeches handsome healer, the one Cardale's babes are keenest to play doctor with. But so far, Sam's hectic schedule has left him little time for love. Even his relationship with Serena cools this week.

PEAK Practice gave Joseph Millson the chance to buy his own home at 24, instead of in his thirties.

Joseph Millson, the actor who plays the dashing young GP, also found himself heavily involved with a woman during filming - his new wife.

The handsome 25-year-old took just three days out of a hectic shooting schedule to marry his girlfriend, actress Caroline Fitzgerald.

''We had planned the wedding before I got the job on Peak Practice,'' he explains. ''We got engaged in February last year after meeting in the West End production of Salad Days.

''I had to rush down from the Peak District shoot to Berkshire for the wedding and then be back on set just a few days later.''
