The Radio Times website has a lovely preview for next week's Radio 4 comedy Shooting Animals, in which Joseph plays Ben.

I hope this is a pilot rather than a one-off comedy. Humorist Guy Browning has co-written a spiky piece on celebrity ego and set it in the Serengeti, where a wildlife series is being filmed. It’s a delight.

ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME

By Guy Browning and Tom Mitchelson. A wildlife crew attempts to film a documentary about baboons with a presenter who has a phobia of animals and intends to keep as far away from them as possible. Comedy, starring Joseph Millson and Emily Joyce.

There is a Radio 4 web page for the show too, with further background to the cast and writers.

The New York Times has a fascinating interview with Macbeth director Eve Best who discusses the challenges faced with staging a dark play in the open elements of the Globe Theatre. Read the interview in full on the website.

The play is particularly challenging at the Globe. Open to the elements, the theater is a tricky fit for a text suffused with darkness, and it can be hard to focus the gathering intensity of the Macbeths’ toxic rise and fall.
