Dolls House: new IMDB page and film stills

A new IMDb page has been added for Doll's House, a short film which Joseph recently filmed with daughter Jessica. Two new stills from the film have been shared on the IMDb page, one of Joseph as The Man In The Chair, and the other of Jessica as Sam.

A young tomboy finds a bound and tortured man in a house in the forest. She must decide whether to free him or abandon him to his fate.

Applications open from September 5th 2016, for the 2016 Joseph Millson Bursary from The Actors Centre.

The Joseph Millson Bursary is back and bigger than ever! This bursary is a fantastic opportunity for someone aged 22 to 102, who has the desire to act but not yet had the means or capability to explore their potential. The bursary will be offered to two recipients this year (worth over £2000). Each recipient will gain an introduction to the training that is needed to be a working actor, tailored support, mentoring and membership to the Actors Centre. The RSC website has updated the page for The Rover with this new photo of Joseph as Willmore. The Rover opens on September 8th.

Join us in the Swan Theatre for a fusion of sights and sounds, whirling music, cultural tension, dubious romance and dilapidated beauty. Aphra Behn was England’s first female professional playwright and a strong voice in early feminism. Loveday Ingram (The Merchant of Venice, 2001) returns to direct this masterpiece of Restoration comedy, joining forces with Olivier and Tony Award-winning designer Lez Brotherston.

King John: Shakespeare's 'Brexit play'

It seems timely, with Joseph now in rehearsals at the RSC again, that a new article has been shared on The Guardian website, looking at another play Joseph performed 10 years ago in Stratford: King John. In the artcle, King John director Josie Rourke discusses the relevance of the play in the current political climate, and mentions Joseph's role as Philip the Bastard. 

It’s darkly witty, full of jokes, and it really lampoons jingoism. Much of that is personified in the role of Philip the Bastard, played in our version by Joseph Millson, who often steps out of the action and operates as a kind of chorus, undercutting what’s going on in the main plot. He’s an incredibly English character, a bit like Falstaff: he banters, he’s defiant, chippy, constantly challenging authority.
