The first photo of filming Banished in Australia has appeared online. The Australian Daily Telegraph has a photo of David Wenham on the Manly Dam set. Sadly no Joseph to be seen.

In a ramshackle settlement in the midst of Manly Dam, actor David Wenham has started filming the epic convict series Banished. Wearing long white strides and a deep blue coat, and sporting a ponytail, the Australian actor appeared as Governor Arthur Phillip, a role he will inhabit for several months during filming of the series written by Redfern Now creator Jim McGovern. The ambitious seven-part BBC series follows the lives, loves and relationship of a group of convicts and soldiers battling for survival in a penal colony in Australia in 1788, after the arrival of the First Fleet.
