The Actors Centre is extremely excited to announce that actors Indira Varma and Joseph Millson have become new Patrons of the Centre and the Tristan Bates Theatre. These two well-known and respected actors will support the Actors Centre as it moves into a new era and approaches its 40th Birthday. Indira and Joseph will both be a vital voice for the Actors Centre within the industry and we couldn't be happier to welcome them on board... 

The RSC has shared a new video on You Tube of Joseph explaining the (complicated) plot and background to The Rover, currently receiving incredible reviews. The Rover runs until February 2017, so plenty of time to get your ticket, though The Telegraph suggests that you should see the 'rugged Joseph Millson' this week.

Applications open from September 5th 2016, for the 2016 Joseph Millson Bursary from The Actors Centre.

The Joseph Millson Bursary is back and bigger than ever! This bursary is a fantastic opportunity for someone aged 22 to 102, who has the desire to act but not yet had the means or capability to explore their potential. The bursary will be offered to two recipients this year (worth over £2000). Each recipient will gain an introduction to the training that is needed to be a working actor, tailored support, mentoring and membership to the Actors Centre. A new interview podcast series with Joseph, in which he offers advice on how to approach auditions, has been shared on this website. Sadly the podcasts are not embeddable, so listen to them all on Hive. 

In this series of podcast Joe offers invaluable advice to anyone going onto an audition for the screen. We discuss the specific demands that a screen audition will have over a stage audition, how to make yourself stand out from all the rest and develop an attitude that will carry you through the times when work isn’t coming in. Joe also offers his opinion on the business in general -how it works and how you should work within it.
